This was a quick and easy read, with a good premise and likeable characters. My only criticism is that its a little too quick and easy. He goes weeks with little to no contact, and when he does speak with her, he's casual and distant. Then as soon as he tells her that he really was just busy, she immediately folds and falls into his arms again. I don't buy that someone could go that long without having at least a little time to call or text. But, once again, that's why it's called fiction. Still a quick, fun read.Product details

I have enjoyed Mari Carr's Cock tales series. This book didn't disappoint. Loved the tension and heat between Sophie and Marc.
Mari Carr writes a great novel -- this one was good but compressed. It felt like whole scenes had been deleted. H&H were likeable and although I appreciated it -- how in the heck did they get together so quick (seemed a little rushed)?
This baby rocks it. Mari Carr has a unique twist to her story telling that has me wanting MORE, MORE AND MORE!!!
I cant say enough about how I loved this story ! I loved this series and Mari Carr! I especially liked the characters I this story and it wasn't rushed! It was just perfect!!
I really enjoyed reading this third book in the Cocktales series, about Sophie & Marc Garrett and the whole gang at Books and Brew. Sophie is one of the owners of the Books and Brew and she has had quite a dry spell, measuring two years and her vibrated just isn't cutting it any more. Two of her partners have recently been bitten by the love trap and are regularly getting it, it's now her turn. Sophie was at the nail salon trying to get some relaxation with a pedicure & a French manicure, when Patrician comes in complaining about all the problems with planning her birthday bash, then she rushes out and leaves her poor darling Pookie the dog. So Sophie grabs the bag with the dog and runs out with no shoes on waddling down the side walk trying to catch up with Patricia, and instead runs smack into a guy his papers go flying and they both drop their cell hones. Rudely he says do you ever watch where your going, and she says don't you know to look both ways when crossing the street, didn't your mother teach you any manors, and he says I'm crossing the sidewalk and I do have manors thank you very much. Sophie stops and helps him pick up all his papers and shoved them into the file and handed them back to him, grabbed her phone and stomped off, back to the nail salon. When she got back Patricia was there grabbed Pookie and said mommy missed you so much, I hope this scary lady didn't hurt you. Sophie was so done with trying to do a nice thing she just collapsed in the salon chair. What should have taken her an hour has now taken three and she's not even relaxed. By the time she got back to the bar, Stephanie wanted to know why she was late, and she said I banged into the most rudest guy named Marc, and he really made me mad. Stephanie said I know, and Sophie says how do you know, well when you didn't come in on time I called your phone and Marc picked up. He'll be dropping by later today to give it back to you, Sophie just shook her head and said I never want to talk to him again, and stomped off. Read this book because the sparks are about to fly between the princess Sophie and the dirt poor hay-seed lawyer Marc. This book will make you laugh, and cum a bit. It will however make you realize that friendship among these four women is absolute and they would do anything for each other and they tell each other everything. It's totally awesome. Can't wait to read book 4.
A story that reminds us that sometimes the love of our life has such similar values to our own that we don't see them for what they are.
On November 7, 2012 Ms. Carr released the third installment of the Cocktales series, "Bachelor's Bait." So back to Books and Brew I happily went. I got to catch up with Jordan and Stephanie and their men (I won't give names to protect the innocent...heehee - those of you who haven't yet read the books). I spent a few interesting minutes with the shy but ever-so-fascinating Jayne (the fourth book...I assume). But the majority of my visit was spent with the beautiful and charming Sophie. Even though Sophie comes from wealth and prosperity, she wants to make her own way in the world. She co-owns Books and Brew and is trying to figure out what her true purpose in life is meant to be. What she does know is that it is NOT meant to be spent with the snobby, pretentious men her father keeps trying to set her up with. She also doesn't want to be with a man who looks at her as nothing but a dollar sign in a dress waiting for their opportunity to "score."
When Sophie literally runs into free-aid lawyer Marc Garrett sparks fly. However, not all sparks are good...these two can make bantering an Olympic sport and it is FUN to watch (read)! Thanks Ms. Carr. While Marc has no time for a relationship, let alone one with a society "princess," even he can't ignore passion when it hits with brutal force.
Once again, Ms. Carr gives her readers a sexy, sizzling story filled with "friends" and new characters all lovable and all desirable. Grab a bar stool (or maybe something a little cozier) pour yourself a drink and start reading.
While these books can be stand alone stories, I ALWAYS suggest starting at the first book and going from there. Feel free to go to my May 15, 2012 post and buy the books right from the page.
